At an emotional election rally in Kalutara, former MP Rohitha Abeygunawardhane was seen tearfully addressing the crowd, expressing his unwavering commitment to the people, even if he were to serve as an Opposition MP in Parliament.

“I am a good organiser. I have never prioritised my personal needs. I have always been with the people. I will continue to protect you, even as an Opposition MP,” he said, visibly moved.

Abeygunawardhane reflected on the recent defeat, stating, “It is good that we were defeated. Now, we can realise who the real friends are and who the enemies are.”
